Percepto Base
A drone docking station is a hardware “box” that charges and protects a drone. Advanced drone docking stations, or Base Stations, will be industrial grade and highly robust, and support data upload.
A drone docking station serves 3 main purposes:
- Protecting a drone from harsh weather, theft and other external environments.
- Charging the drone when it is not in flight.
- Supporting data upload, pre-flight checks and other features key to autonomous drone flight.
The most robust drone docking stations can withstand hurricane level winds, heavy snow and rain, and extreme temperatures. It is critical for a drone docking station to withstand the harshest weather conditions to safely support 24/7/365 operations and emergency response.
When a drone is not in flight, it returns to a drone charging station where its battery life is restored. Properly charging a drone battery is critical for safety and improving battery life.
