ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS
Composed by Mark Snow
$14.95
Before his wildly popular success on THE X-FILES,
composer Mark Snow flexed his musical muscles with the
robust holiday-flavored orchestral score for the 1986
comedy ERNEST SAVES CHRISTMAS. This perennial
yuletide gem was the most charming and accessible of
the ongoing series of comedies showcasing the talents
of hapless handyman Ernest P. Worrell, played by the
late Jim Varney. Though continually broad in its
slapstick, this charming installment displayed a
disarmingly tender and dramatic side as Worrell
ineptly assists in the recruitment of a new Santa
Claus in time for Christmas. One of the film’s
greatest strengths is undoubtedly Snow’s score which
gave him the unique opportunity to display his talent
for lush orchestral flourishes, warm character-driven
passages and grand yule bombast for the film’s rousing
finale.
In 2002, a promotional soundtrack containing Snow’s
complete original score was produced on a very limited
basis throughout the entertainment industry. As a
special holiday thank you to our many loyal customers,
Percepto has acquired the remaining 40 copies and is
offering them on a first-come, first served basis
between December 15th and December 31, 2006.
This exclusive release contains the original
professionally-produced CD-R with the printed booklet
and inlay.
