CARTOON CONCERTO
Composed by Bruce Broughton
$14.95
Throughout the 1980s, Bruce Broughton composed many of the decade's most memorable and exciting scores. His penchant for soaring lyricism and thrilling action displayed a distinctive voice that covered a wide musical spectrum. From the rip-roaring Western sounds of SILVERADO and TOMBSTONE to the delicate romantic fantasy of THE BOY WHO COULD FLY to the mysterious exotic chants of YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES, Broughton delivered a range that continues to expand, most recently with his two Emmy-Winning scores for TV's ELOISE and ELOISE AT CHRISTMASTIME.
During the 1990s, Broughton broadened those musical colors by becoming one of the industry's most proficient scorers of animation, including the manic sounds of TV's TINY TOONS, Disney's trio of ROGER RABBIT shorts and many, many more. Each week, Broughton happily channelled the frenzied musical spirits of Carl Stalling and Raymond Scott by delivering a dizzying dose of toon tunes played with breathless, rapid-fire gusto for full orchestra.
In 2001, a rare promotional CD titled CARTOON CONCERTO was manufactured to showcase a variety of selections from Broughton's foray into toondom. By special arrangement, Percepto has acquired 200 copies of this professionally produced CD and is offering them exclusively through our website for a limited time only. This delightful disc offers nearly one hour of Broughton's finest and is priced at $14.95, while supplies last.
