Composer Ronald Stein, never one to be intimidated by the widescreen ambitions of its filmmakers, pulled off one of the most rousing scores of his diverse career. Scored for a large orchestra, Stein captures the grand scope, nail-biting suspense and deadly majesty of its titular lizards, providing a ferocious lyricism in its sweeping melodies.
